Microsoft Works is a great tool for all kinds of office / home works, school projects, etc.
It includes a small office suite itself, something like a smaller version of Microsoft Office. There is Works Word Processor, Works Database, etc. But it doesn't have the features of Microsoft Office applications.
The main thing it does is that it helps to access all the office applications installed in your computer; of Microsoft, like the MS Office, Encarta, etc. It also has calendar, contacts, etc, which are automatically synchronized with the windows calendar and contacts. We cannot make any change to the calendar or contacts from this program. So, MSN, mail application, etc can be accessed from this program.
There is a big list of templates for doing various jobs / Works, like planning a travel, letters, cards, home planning and budget management, medical records, organizing sports team, managing you fitness, etc, all that can be done in Works applications or in Microsoft Office applications.
The main thing is that the software is fairly priced unlike other Microsoft Softwares. But the quality of the software cannot be assured. The templates available are not really good, even though there is a wide variety to choose from, and more to be downloaded from the website. |
