Some files from the Microsoft Works are available for import into the newer versions of Home Office. The simplest thing to do is to actually import the files that you have into the corresponding Office product.
I've studied various websites and documents and it appears this is the only way. You have to identify the format of your files and then choose the corresponding Office product to open them. Typically, they should work out of the box or it should give you an error about the "unknown file format" that you are trying to open.
Technically, if your files are in the DOC or XLS format, you'll have the possibility to open them. Works 2003 is not a discontinued application. It has been replaced with the famous Office everyone uses it nowadays, but back in the day, Works 2003 supported opening and saving DOC and XLS file formats, and the latest version of Office definitely supports opening DOC and XLS.
I have data (income tax) from Windows XP Pro. Is there a Microsoft Works version that will work with Windows 10? If so, will it open data from a spreadsheet from Windows XP Pro?

No, there is no version that will work on Windows 10. Microsoft Works was a trimmed down version of Office that was less expensive and had fewer features. On Windows 10, you can use the latest version of Office or anything similar like OpenOffice or LibreOffice, because they're all compatible with the latest versions of Windows.
To recover an unsaved document simply go to Start > Run > and type %appdata%. Go back one folder and access Local > Microsoft > Office > Temp. The files should look something like ~Autosave000001.WPS. Open the file then save it normally to desktop.
Yes, although it hasn't been developed for Windows 8.1 there are users who installed it correctly. However, the only way to acquire it is through Amazon. Once you got the software, right click the installer and choose Properties > Compatibility. Set the compatibility to Vista and that's it. Run it as Administrator and the setup will continue its work. Go through the installation process, and the software should be installed in your Windows 8.1 computer.
Yes, you can. The Microsoft Works version 8.5 is fully compatible with the Windows XP operating system. However, this software was discontinued on the 28th of September, 2007. This means that the developer doesn't offer neither support for it nor updates anymore. The latest version of the software was 9.0 and it isn't available to download it anymore.

I accidentally removed Microsoft Works from my computer and I have no idea how to reinstall it. Can you help?
If you run Repair on windows startup it should fix it.... if not so go to the windows site and find XP or Mac or w.e you got.
